Daikin to Broadcast LIVE from AHR Expo Sharing Future Vision for HVAC
Daikin
MINNEAPOLIS – Jan. 22, 2018— At AHR Expo 2018 in Chicago's McCormick Place, Daikin will broadcast live from its booth on the show floor to discuss trends shaping the future of HVAC technology and Daikin's focus in driving innovation to create better outcomes for organizations. Daikin LIVE: On the Air from AHR will stream live starting at 11a.m. Central on Tuesday, January 23. Viewers can tune in to the broadcast by visiting here.
Daikin Applied CEO Mike Schwartz and other executives will participate in the live show, giving virtual attendees a behind-the-scenes look at Daikin's newest innovations and technologies. During the broadcast, Daikin will unveil its latest oil-free compressor technology for commercial grade chillers, and its experts will discuss the commercial HVAC solutions that are delivering smart, configurable options to optimize building environments.
"Daikin has always been at the forefront of advanced technology. But it's not enough to simply look at buildings as a place to do business. Organizations need the right insights and tools to ensure those inside the building are positively contributing to an organization's strategic goals and outcomes," said Mike Schwartz, CEO of Daikin Applied Americas. "We believe your air can be doing more – for your business, and your people. Every day we aim to create better outcomes for our customers, so they can breathe easier. Anyone can provide equipment that conditions air; but only Daikin delivers better outcomes through Air Intelligence – the unique wisdom and passion that are necessary to deliver quality air."
Daikin to debut new VRV equipment
In addition to the live broadcast, Daikin will introduce a variety of new HVAC solutions, including the new VRV LIFE™ System, a versatile VRV residential system optimized to efficiently heat and cool homes.
The slim, quiet, inverter-driven VRV LIFE System outdoor unit can accommodate up to 9 indoor units with multiple ducted and ductless styles for design and application flexibility. With the option of integrating a gas furnace via a separate evaporator coil, the new VRV LIFE system is an industry first, and the latest product from Daikin designed to provide a seamless user experience integrated with efficient, cutting edge residential HVAC technology.
"Daikin engineers and marketers have had tremendous success this past year as the Daikin team continues to adapt the high technologies that Daikin is recognized for into the growing North American market," said Takayuki (Taka) Inoue, Executive Vice President and President, Daikin North America LLC.
Other new VRV products from Daikin include the following:
- VRV T-Series Water Cooled Condensing Unit
Daikin will showcase its newest VRV T-Series Water Cooled condensing unit. It provides added flexibility for applications in colder climates, at buildings with existing water loops and in geothermal applications. The VRV T-Series system also offers many of the same benefits of an air-cooled VRV system, such as quiet operation and advanced controls for comfort and system zoning. - Daikin VRV AURORA™ Series
Daikin North America has expanded its existing Daikin VRV AURORA air-cooled system to include a 230/460V model for the United States market. The enhanced series demonstrates Daikin's technological leadership by delivering heat efficiently in temperatures as low as -22°F. Daikin's vapor-injection compressor technology enables the system to reach 100 percent of its usual heating capacity at 0°F; up to 85 percent at -13°F; and up to 60 percent capacity at -22°F.
Other new applied products from Daikin include the following:
- PreciseLine™ Large Capacity Blower Coil
Daikin's large capacity horizontal blower coil affordably conditions air to precise levels up to 5000 cfm, designed to match a building's air handling demand at a blower coil price point. The offering is a more compact unit that meets building demands while maximizing space – helping facility managers condition air for a larger space in a smaller package at an affordable price. And, its double-wall construction minimizes airborne pathogens and contaminants to provide better recirculation of room air and improved indoor air quality. - Data acquisition and analytics
Daikin's Intelligent Equipment® connects directly to 150 data points on rooftop units and 350 data points on air-cooled chillers to monitor energy consumption at the equipment level for deeper, more accurate performance measurement. Intelligent Equipment earned recognition as a finalist in the 2017 AHR Expo Innovation Awards in the Building Automation category. - Air-cooled chillers
Daikin's Pathfinder® (screw) and Trailblazer® (scroll) units are both available with Intelligent Equipment to help building owners and facility managers transform how they manage their HVAC equipment. Trailblazer chillers are designed for low-install costs and high performance with up to 10 percent better efficiency than competing offerings. Pathfinder AWV features the industry-first Variable Volume Ratio (VVR) technology which allows the chiller's compressor to optimize performance for every condition and at every hour of the day, significantly improving efficiency levels. - Remotely connected rooftop units
Daikin's rooftop product line is Intelligent Equipment-enabled and provides superior temperature and humidity control, enhancing the quality of the occupied space. At the DGSM, Daikin previewed its latest enhancement of Rebel: The Commercial Packaged 20-ton Heat Pump Rooftop with inverter scroll compression. The modulation of the variable speed compressor equates to 30 percent energy savings relative to ASHRAE 90.1-2016 part-load minimums - values rarely attained in a rooftop unit this large. - Compact water source heat pumps
Daikin's SmartSource® compact vertical water source heat pumps pack high-performance features into a 48 percent smaller footprint, providing engineers, contractors and facility managers with a solution that frees up space, as well as providing low energy usage and installation costs. - Flexible fan arrays
Award-winning ECM fan arrays for Daikin's Vision® and Skyline® semi-custom air handlers use 46 percent less cabinet space while delivering high efficiencies at low sound levels. With the ability to accommodate up to 20 fans in 40 different arrangements to meet application requirements, along with fan and motor redundancy to ensure reliability, ECM fan arrays for indoor and outdoor air handlers are the perfect fit for mission-critical facilities where extra space is limited.
