As Jim Nyquist, president of Emerson Automation Solutions’ Process Systems and Solutions business, told Texas CEO Magazine, the process industries are going through a real metamorphosis. He sees the day coming soon when the Industrial Internet of Things will bring safety, optimization, emissions control, and energy efficiency together in ways that revolutionize the global manufacturing space. “It’s a technology inflection point where we’ll look back in 10 years and say, ‘Wow, that was big,’” he said.
