Caverion modernises the tunnel technology in Perjentunnel in Austria
Caverion has signed a contract with ASFINAG (Autobahnen- und Schnellstraßen-Finanzierungs-Aktiengesellschaft) for the project execution of renovation of the safety equipment of Perjentunnel in Tyrol, Austria. The contract covers the following technical systems: the renewal of the medium voltage system, tunnel ventilation, tunnel radio, electrical and control systems. The value of the contract is EUR 13 million.

The security constructional work of the Perjentunnel in the Tyrolean Oberland has been running since May 2016. The new second tube, the rehabilitation of the existing tube and the installation of state-of-the-art safety technology will significantly improve safety conditions for the driver. The expressway section represents the connection between the Inn valley and the Stanzertal as the northern bypass of the Landeck - Zams.
Work on the new second tube will be completed by the end of 2018. Upon completion of the renovation of the first tube, two modern tunnel tubes will be in service by the end of 2019.
