The update has expanded the PVA multi-position air handler’s capabilities. Matched with a high-performance heat pump, the air handler creates an efficient solution for a single room, an entire home or a large open area.
The new air handler is useful for both system replacement and new product installation, providing contractors with options and flexibility for specifying Mitsubishi Electric systems. The system’s high static capabilities (field adjustable) make it appropriate for applications such as common areas or an entire floor in a home or office and when utilizing existing ductwork. Depending on the space configuration and usage, contractors may wish to incorporate multiple zones with smaller PVA’s or choose from four additional indoor unit types.
“The PVA multi-position air handler represents a significant advancement in cooling and heating options to our P-Series line,” says Michelle Robb, director, residential marketing, Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Cooling & Heating Division. “Flexibility was at the forefront of the design and we feel we have expanded options for HVAC contractors, which in turn, creates a happier homeowner.”
Designed with flexibility in mind, the air handler can be used for a home or office where a concealed cooling and heating option is desired. It can be fully disassembled and reassembled to fit through tight openings such as a crawl space or attic doors, closets, etc. Some other notable features are the highly efficient DC motor and forward curved blower, which allows the PVA to operate at a near-silent noise level, SEER ratings as high as 27 and an easy-to-service system with slide out components. It can also be configured for horizontal (left/right) or vertical applications and is available in six sizes, from 12K to 42K Btu/h-rated heating capacities.
The air handler also pairs with the kumo cloud™ programmable controller app to allow temperature control from a smartphone.
